Welcome to BeautyHyped! In this blog, I hope to share with you my never-ending passion for all things beauty and the industry overall. You can expect to find content on skincare routines, makeup tutorials, product reviews, lifestyle recommendations, and more! I debated starting my own blog for the longest time, but this year I finally decided to get out of my own way and give this a shot. My want is for this blog to serve as an outlet for my own creativity and self-expression and my hope is for BeautyHyped to become your go-to guide for all things beauty and inspiration!
I had always liked makeup and had grown up watching my mother apply makeup every day for work. When I turned 15, my mom gifted me a small makeup pouch with some basic drugstore makeup essentials like face powder, blush, eyeliner, mascara and a Revlon eyeshadow quad. This was a BIG deal for me because it was the first time that I was allowed to wear makeup. I was ecstatic, and better yet, I received it just in time for my quince’s European trip. (I ended up losing my makeup pouch during the trip; sad times, but a huge lesson on the importance of being organized).
Throughout my young adult years, I continued to always like makeup, but of course, with minimal exposure to products I could afford on a college student budget. It wasn’t until after I graduated college that my true passion for makeup artistry started to ignite. I began obsessing over beauty YouTube videos, reading beauty blogs and testing out makeup that I was finally able to afford (yay post-graduate full-time job!). My curiosity only grew stronger throughout the years and I built out what I consider to be an impressive makeup collection. I became so passionate about makeup that I opted to take a break from my Human Resources career to attend the Blush School of Makeup in San Francisco. At this point, I was not only interested in the product knowledge and application, but I also wanted to learn everything I could about the industry and the science behind makeup. Fast track to now, I have acquired more experience freelancing as a makeup artist, completed another makeup artistry course at Academy of Glam in South Florida and also became a licensed Facial Specialist in Florida.
I have decided to start this blog to have a way of sharing all my passions with anyone willing to listen – or read, but you get my drift. I aspire to create a space for you to find resources that will help you fall in love with makeup the way I’ve had and I also intend to share some lifestyle content that I hope inspires you. I’ve learned so much in the realm of beauty throughout the years, but I continue to discover new techniques, products, and routines. I cannot wait to share my knowledge and explore this new journey with you. I hope you’re as excited as I am!
Till next time,
